To those who wrote me on the occasion of my announcement of my retirement from much of my teaching, THANK YOU!  But I have to say that, in spite of the nice things you all said about my teaching, I think you may have forgotten the role that YOU have played in becoming better pilots.  Because, if you didn't have the desire to improve through practice, your skills couldn't be improved by anyone.  It is YOU who have been responsible for your own improvement.

Many thanks to Erik Cook and Marty Kimberling from High Desert Aviation. Those guys are great mechanics and I really appreciate their help with the PA12.  I am probably going to stop doing flight instruction except for my two most talented students.  Anyone who is currently booked will be flown...

My Pal, Norman Nelson, spent a bit of time at the Squirrelwerks. We had a great time and went flying for a bit.  Norm took the pic below of Phil Comingore's granddaughter, Emily, as we formed up on Phil's Cub.

I was sorry to see my pal Keith Newnham head home to Australia, but he'll be back! The first weekend started with a trip to "Three-Fingered Jack" for Angela's intro to mountain flying.  The conditions couldn't have been better, because the turbulence was right where it should have been, indicating that she needed to do a steep turn away from the turbulent downwind area and get out of it.

Angela Keeling is doing great with our little "rust removal" program, and she graciously took a few days off from flying to make room for pilot Sam Doolittle, who came from Petaluma, California for his Tailwheel Endorsement.
