It's certainly been a busy two weeks at Tailwheel Town! For one thing, I woke up the other day to find that my website was down, replaced by some gibberish in place of copy. So, while I get THAT fixed, I ask my subscribers to the Tailwheeler's Journal Newsletter to bear with me.
It's been an interesting two weeks at Tailwheel Town. Barry Foote and I have been working on the PA12 and two new tailwheel pilots are now gracing the skies. Marc Limmany did a terrific job with his endorsement and Anke Jaspers came all the way from Germany to fly here. Both have new Tailwheel Endorsements to add to their considerable accomplishments.
I had originally planned to go to Alaska to fly with Jamie Klaes, Jason Motyka and Amal Ajmi, but it was getting late in the season and the new PA12 needed some work, so I cancelled the trip and I've been working in the Squirrelwerks and consulting with Avionics technician, Barry Foote on getting the PA12 set up the way I want it.
I bid a fond farewell to Claudia Childs the other day. Claudia was the last Ladies Love Taildraggers scholarship recipient to come to Tailwheel Town this year and it was indeed a pleasure working with her on her tailwheel endorsement. Plus, as sometimes happens, she had a chance to fly with one of my friends in another friend's airplane.
A word about "Dawn Flight". As many followers of The Tailwheeler's Journal may know, back in 1975 my brother, Lawrence Lansburgh, and I were nominated for an Academy Award for our film, Dawn Flight. It was the story of a glider pilot.
